Poems that i wrote wile at DYC

these poems i wrote on m weekend here at DYC. i hope you like them.

Today

Today is not tomorrow
Today is what you can do now
Today gives us the chance to do something
Something for our Maker, Father, Healer
Today is not yesterday it is not what you could have of or should have done
But had the today is now the past is over and the future is all you have
to change the past is impossible but you can change the future by following him
our grate crater, Dad, Lover of man kind

The small road

This road im on is not a road it is a a highway
The path that i try to go on it the only way to find true love
All i need is God and and my feet on this great path
But i stay from the path this hard path with Trials and adventures
I work to go along this path this the only savior

The best time of my life

I have had the most fun EVER!!! Everything has just been so well put together. One event flowing right into the other. I have learned so much about myself and my friends through times in huddle, session, and going to get something to eat. I could not have established any of this without DYC 2009!!! Rob

From the sick guitar player

Hey guys. I like to throw out throughts as they come so here goes...

We all look forward to playing at DYC. The crew is wonderful, the sound is loud, the people are responsive, the hotel rooms are... Hotel rooms. I wish I would've gone to something like this when I was a kid. It's really something else to be a part of this. What an honor to be invited back three years. Being a musician, I feel a serious responsibility to serve The Lord with my gift. What better place than here?

Now about being sick here.. It sucks. I'm happy to say the 24 hour+ flu only took me out of the morning session Sunday. I will admit to feeling pretty crappy Sunday night, but I told myself I needed to be there the last night. I hope no one minded my chair. Special thanks to Logan for making Brian and I run across the room since we started early. Who ever got me sick, I will find you.

I want to thank all of you for making us feel welcome again and again. Ya'll is cool. Ya'll has my respect.

If you're reading this, clean the keyboard I typed on.

Thanks guys

Billy the sick (getting better!) guitar player

Love and friendship

I always feel so at peace with who I am on these trips. I love my youth group. It is my second well third family. DYC and camp are my two favorite places in the whole world.
It's also nice to have some girl time.

Ronald McDonald

Yesterday my church group spilt up into two groups and went to local Ronald McDonald Houses. There families stay that have a child that is sick, and cant afford to live away from the hospital. When we showed up, the lady showed us the only vacant room there. Each room has a sponser and they as a company or family decorte the room themselves with a theme that reflects them. My mom gave me the gift of sensitivity, so tears immediately filled my eyes as a walked in. Later as Carli, Danielle, and I sanitized the toys and books in the toy room a little boy named Bryson came in. His mom later followed and sat with her baby, which i assumed was the ill one, and began to question our work. We simply told her about our church and why we come here every year. She kept asking questions about our denomination, and came to a conclusion that she was going to search for one in her city. That brought smiles to all of our faces. Yesterday taught us all to not only be thankful for the houses and families we were given, but to be thankful for God giving us a healthy body. So i just want to say thank you and good luck to Bryson's family. Youre in our prayers.

Free Time

Today at free time was so awesome, i got to know the kinds from Moses Lake a lot better. Their all really cool, I personally think its really cool that we have the free time to bond with our group since me and Alf are the only two kids from Mosaic, and we get to room with the moses lake kids.

YA!

My DYC experience has been very good. I love it here and I have always been experiencing new things. God has showed me things I have never seen and have never felt before and I always take something home from this conference.
Today my youth group went around down town Portland doing a "Random Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt" to try and branch out, doing things we normally wouldn't do: asking a stranger if we could pray for them and then doing it, giving another stranger a bible, passing out free waters...etc. When we were heading back to our cars a homeless man came up to us asking for money for a bus fair. One of our leaders handed him five bucks and to prove he wouldn't spend any of it on drugs, he made us watch him buy some donuts. To be honest, I was sort of nervous standing there next to this strange guy, not knowing what he would do. But the next half hour we stood outside the convenience store and listened to his various stories he shared with us, and we patiently and attentively listened. I went from being scared, to actually enjoying what he had to say. Afterwards, we handed him a bible, and we just knew he was so greatful to have had the chance to talk to some people. It was just nice to make some one smile with just a few simple minutes, when they may not have smiled for a long time.
